ABOUT THE ARTIST/FENCER-Princess Simpson Rashid
|

Princess Simpson Rashid is a graduate of Georgia State University with a B.S in Physics & Astronomy. She studied printmaking and painting at the Escuela de Artes Plastica in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her diverse interests are reflected in her body of work. In addition to her love for science, she has a passion for the modern sport of fencing. As a competitive fencer, Rashid is a recipient of several United States Fencing Association (USFA) Summer National Fencing Championship medals in all three weapons; foil, epee, and saber. For 5 years she served as the Assistant Fencing Coach at the Jacksonville Fencing Club (JFC). Rashid has been exhibiting her fencing paintings and prints around the United States since 2004. Her work has been debuted at various national and regional USFA sanctioned tournaments. Her fencing paintings can be found in private collections throughout the country.
